Louis Armstrong and Fats Waller only worked together twice, briefly in 1925 in Erskine Tate's band and four years later in the New York revue Connie's Hot Chocolates. But Waller made an indelible enough impression for Satchmo to record the tribute album Satch Plays Fats: The Music of Fats Waller in 1955, when such ideas were new. The nine tracks feature Armstrong ably supported by his All-Stars on such classics as "Honeysuckle Rose," "Squeeze Me," and "Ain't Misbehavin'." The mid-'50s was a fertile time for Armstrong, and this makes for a stellar package. [Some reissues deliver over twice the tracks of the original LP issue, with four edited alternate takes from the same session, plus seven more tracks of Waller material recorded by Armstrong in the 1920s and '30s.]
THE VINYL IS GRADED EX viewed in good sunlight. Very light scratches that don't really affect play. The vinyl is shinny and clean.
- THE COVER IS GRADED VG. It has water stains on 2 edges, and a split seam at the top. It has some light shelf and corner wear. The spline is in sound and legible
· THIS IS THE ORIGINAL, AUTHENTIC, FIRST U.S. PRESSING; THIS IS NOT A REISSUE, AN IMPORT, OR A COUNTERFEIT PRESSING.
· ORIGINAL, THICK CARDBOARD COVER (AMERICAN STYLE)

· RECORD
(IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, ALL records are graded visually, and NOT play-graded!; we grade records under the strong, diffuse room light or discrete sunlight)
The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!
Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!
· COVER
THE COVER IS NICE --- ABOUT VERY GOOD - THE MAIN PICTURE IS CLEAN, BUT IT SOME ISSUES ON THE OUTER EDGES.
The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:
- Cover has some water damage along the top edge, more visible on the back.
- Cover has corners slightly worn / dinged / bent.
- Cover has a split seam on the top edge, with light warping on top open edge.
- No cut-out (drill) holes.

All records are sight graded under bright lights. Play graded records will be listed as such.
Near Mint: A step above Excellent. Extremely minor wispy sleeve scuffing. Still Cover has very minor corner dings or dents.
Excellent: An above average used record with very light play. Lots of sheen and gloss. Cover has only very minor shelf scuffing with no tears or seam splits.
VG+ to VG++: A really nice used record with some sleeve scuffs or minor abrasions. None seriously affecting play. There may be some ticks or pops...but, no skips. Covers have some mild ring wear or minor shelf scuffing. Any seam splits will always be mentioned.
VG: Vinyl may have scratches and/or other visual blemishes, but should play through without skipping or repeating. Light to moderate surface noise and/or crackle may be present, however not overly distracting. Covers may have moderate ring and/or edge wear, cut-outs / hole punches, or a moderate seam splits.
GOOD +: Well worn record has scratches, "ticks" and surface noise. Maybe a skip or two, nothing major, but would not be a collector example. Deeper scratches and noticeable shine gone from the vinyl. Will play with fidelity, but background noise will be present. Cover may have ring wear, seam splits, tape and writing sometimes.
