Description
Dreamy LP release from Lyle Wood and Kevin Beyer, The Power To Become…In His Image, issued around 1974 by Queen City Album (2135). LP and cover – still in the shrinkwrap – are in outstanding VG++ condition, hard to top. Under-the-radar album matches or surpasses Foley & Kavanaugh to these ears. Ken Scott has this to contribute:
“Interesting acoustic duo with slow-moving melodies and sleepy droning harmonies hovering over a dreamy backdrop of 12-string guitar. Took awhile for their stark method to grow on me, but soon I found myself appreciating tracks like the moving ‘Power To Become’ or the 7-minute ‘See The Master’, a slow-building climactic piece depicting the crucifixion and resurrection, complete with subtly reverbed vocals and crashing thunder effects. Four songs written by Beyer, five by Wood. An unknown private press with generic clouds cover photo on Cincinnati, Ohio custom label.”
