Description
This excellent 5-hour John Lennon radio music and interview special aired in late 1980- early 1981 after John's tragic death. The show is scripted around Andy Peebles' excellent interview with John and Yoko that took place December 6th, 1980, 2 days before John's senseless killing. This radio show includes all of the original programming, including songs and commercials. This was the actual copy played on Love 94 FM radio in Miami. I believe it also aired one year later on the anniversary of his death, as there are notations on the box. It includes the original box, all the records and protective sleeves and all of the cue sheet and materials received with the show.
Be aware that if you have the 2-CD "John & Yoko: The Interview" CDs, that THIS radio show includes portions that were EDITED OUT for some reason...conversation that does NOT appear on the CDs. It seems that most of the pleasant Beatles conversation was not included on the CDs, yet it appears in THIS program, like John discussing "The Ballad of John & Yoko and several other Beatles songs. So if you have the double CDs, you don't really have all of the interview as it was edited for CD.
The show is hosted by legendary BBC announcer Brian Mathew and includes Andy Peeble's conversation with John & Yoko of course.
