Description

A genuine UK Red & Plum Atlantic copy from 1971. [12 months after 1st release]. Matrix A5/B4. For anyone heavily into Zeppelin and wants to hear what all the fuss is about on these red & plum copies... This would be a good example to illustrate! The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold E J Day cover. Plastic bag warning inner too.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In great condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a coupe of slight marks per side - nothing heavy or overtly troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with deviation in two tracks. Intros and inbetweens are quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity by abd large. Plays clean into most of those lowkey sections. So, on WLL which tends to get murdered,,,you're actually going to get to hear all the lowkey effects in the mid-section. Plants vocal echoes will be revealed fully.. An all time classic title so why would you want to compromise on the audio? All I could make out was a bit of background presence occasionally in the quietest moments of 'Killing Floor' & 'Moby' And even then it is relatively minor and the tracks still play great. A few crackles into the super fussy 'Thankyou'& 'BIOH' intro which otherwise play great. A couple of isolated ticks per side. Highly recommended. 
Cover (Vg/Vg+) Not up to the standard of the vinyl but these original Zep II covers are a nightmare to find in great condition. Very nice and flat front with some light evidence of ageing. DITTO the rear - with a bit more wear evident...as is very common. Some edge wear in places - but no wear-throughs. Spine exhibits a bit of wear and ageing...but text is all still legible and it retains a nice square formation. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex-) Super no issues.
