Description

An original 1st issue of Zep III on the UK Red & Plum Atlantic label. Matrix A5/B5 - 1st cut. Please note there is an earlier label variation [day-of-release] version, but this copy would have been available shortly after 1st release. Please another indicator of it being early is that the 'CELEBRATION' error has been made on side 1. The track is officially known as 'Celebration Day'. The vinyl comes housed in an original spinning-wheel deluxe cover printed by E J Day. Also included is the original plastic bag warning inner sleeve date coded "0970" - Sep1970 a month before 1st release. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In fantastic condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks each side - nothing remotely troublesome.  A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are practically silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. These early red & plum have a habit of delivering the goods on the audio side - and this example is no exception. Big bold and powerful sound, but nuanced and clean even in the quiet slow-build sections. One of the best renditions I've witnessed for sure. Interference is pretty much non-existent. All I could detect were a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments. It is a blindingly good rendition and not far off perfect. I really can't recommend the audio highly enough - it's a humdinger for sure.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) These Zep III covers have to go down as one of the best looking designs - a marvel! This example seems to have escaped most of the usual ageing that can appear on early copies. It also doesn't seen to be suffering the laminate creasing on the rear which is very common. Front and back are clean and there's only a whiff at the extremities - very minor. The spinning wheel is intact and fully operational. The interior is pretty much immaculate. Edge wear is very light for this title and the openings still sharp. The spine is 100% intact and the cover retains excellent rigidity. SWEET!!
Inner (Ex-) Light ageing. A 1c.m. side split. Otherwise aok.
