Along with new recordings by Margie Singleton and other stars of Starday Records on a limited edition 2xLP red vinyl set, this auction includes both an autographed Margie Singleton 8x10 and a digital download card.
Each of the 14 Stars of Starday signed an extremely limited number of promo pictures to be given away for free with the first 150 copies of the Nate Gibson & the Stars of Starday LP. Each 8x10 was autographed by the artist pictured and is stamped on the back, "Thank you for supporting Nate Gibson & the Stars of Starday." These are being given away as a bonus for purchasing the limited edition red vinyl version.

The CD version with 56-page booklet and bonus track was released by Bear Family Records earlier this year. This 2xLP version was released by Gibson Records and is available on black vinyl or red vinyl. This is the Limted Edition red vinyl version and includes a signed 8x10 photo of a Starday Star with each order. LPs come in plastic sleeve (not shrink), with full color insert sleeves and download code inside.
The package is quite heavy. Media shipping in US is FREE. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, I am unable to ship internationally at this time. When this changes, I will update my listings and look forward to shipping LPs anywhere in the world. About the project:
Starday Records was the largest independent country music record label in the 1950s and ‘60s, releasing a lot of incredible traditional country music, honky-tonk, rockabilly, bluegrass, gospel, and western swing. As my friends know, I’ve been obsessed with Starday Records for many years; I even wrote a book about the label called The Starday Story: The House That Country Music Built (University Press of Mississippi).
In recent years, I've wanted to shine an even brighter light on the music itself, specifically on the many Starday artists who are still alive and still making great music today. So I decided to travel around the country and make a record with some of my all-time favorite Starday artists. Along the way I worked with some incredible musicians including Marty Stuart, Kenny Vaughan, Chris Scruggs, and many more.

- Betty Amos w/ Judy & Jean - Stars of the Louisiana Hayride and Wheeling Jamboree who were among the first women to write & record their own truck driving songs. Betty was just the second woman ever recorded playing Scruggs-style banjo.

It’s a really fun record with a lot of traditional country music, bluegrass, rockabilly, western swing, honky-tonk, and gospel music legends from the 1950s and ‘60s! I love that all of these artists are still making great music today, 50-60 years after their Starday records first came out, and I'm super excited for their fans to discover these new recordings of their Starday classics!

More on Margie from allmusic
Margie Singleton was born into a musical family, with her sister Pauline playing piano and her older brother Charlie Creath a popular cornetist and bandleader. She took piano lessons and showed remarkable aptitude in both classical and popular forms. (She would later state that she never particularly wanted to be a professional pianist but simply enjoyed playing and hearing piano music.) In and around St. Louis, she became known and would sometimes play in her brother’s band, although not on his recordings. She had an excellent ear and would advise other pianists on their styles and shortcomings. Later, she met Shelby Singleton and when he went to Chicago she followed him and they were married.
She continued to advise on musical matters. but from this point onward, the mid-'30s, she was mostly engaged in administering her husband's business affairs; she would sit in if a piano player failed to show up. In Chicago for some years, then in Los Angeles throughout the '40s, she continued her life as wife and business manager and did so in later years in New York. During the final years of her husband’s life she nursed him and afterwards resisted the persuasion to return to her playing. Those who heard her play insisted that she was an exceptionally good blues and ragtime pianist and during her spell with her brother’s band in St. Louis she was effectively the leader, rehearsing and directing the band and helping it retain its status as one of the city's finest and most popular jazz groups.
