MARIANNE FAITHFULL - " COME MY WAY ", The Decca Recording Company Ltd (LK 4688) Mono, 1965.
Very rare 1965, first UK pressing of the very rare debut LP by Marianne Faithfull.
Grooved, wideband label with ARL-6747-A1/ARL-6748-A1 matrix numbers.
English issue and pressing.
Professionally cleaned on my Moth record cleaning machine and then put in a fresh new poly-lined inner sleeve (the original inner sleeve has also been kept and will be included with this item).
CONDITION:
VINYL = EXCELLENT (No scratches, no groove damage, no distortion, just the very lightest of spindle trails, etc. In normal daylight the vinyl appears perfectly clean, under a bright grading lamp I can make out a few very light paper scuffs just visible on the vinyl's surface - although none of these correspond directly to any audible defects. On playback, there is some very faint surface noise just audibile during the silent run-in before the beginning of the tracks. Once the music starts, it plays strong and clean - free from interuption from distortion, clicks, pops, etc. Overall, although it is not quite a mint museum piece, it's imperfections are very slight and purely cosmetic. Overall, this LP would make a good honest copy for someone to play and enjoy it.
Note: for the purposes of this listing I have tested this LP on my Linn LP12 Sondek turntable - generally this is quite a critical test, but I must point out that I cannot guarantee exactly how this LP will sound on your turntable - common sense for most... but then this is ebay!!!)
SLEEVE = EXCELLENT- (No rips, tears, massive creases, defacing, etc. There are a couple of light creases just into the laminate and it is grubby in some places and not quite as white as it once was. Overall, much like the vinyl it is an honest example of an old record sleeve that has been used but well cared for - see photos for further clarification
NOTE: I must point out that we are actually a long standing physical record shop, with many decades worth of selling, trading and grading records under our collective belts. Unlike so many of the jokers now selling records on ebay, we know how to grade records.
