" This album here, is their debut album that was most ground breaking with the song "Parking Lot". They recorded a few songs here and a few there, not like most bands who sit down in one studio and record the whole thing. Mineral recorded this album, if I am not mistaken, in three different locations with not the greatest recording equipment. I feel this adds character and you can almost feel the music maturing as you go from track to track..... then blowing peoples minds with "Parking Lot" to finish things off.
Mineral was one of those bands that came, recorded some songs, and left just as soon as they appeared. These guys are legends in the music industry. Everyone has heard the songs but very few have seen them live. If you want to own a little piece of history get this album. And experience for yourself the birth of a legend.
There is a good chance, that if you buy this album or already own it, you will not hear the same songs I hear. But if you do, you will understand what I am saying. Shortly after the release of The Power of Failing, I read a review that summed it up perfectly; "This album makes me happy to be sad". Obviously more concise than I put it.
