Description

  Artist:  Miles Davis Quartet
Title:  May 19 1955
Label:   Prestige
Mono/Stereo:  mono
Info:  Very rare original 45 EP on Prestige.  446 West 50th address on labels.  In nice condition!

Record condition:  Side A is Strong VG+ with very light marks and great sound!  Side B would be the same strong VG+ except for long, deep scratch which surprisingly does not effect play that badly.  Scratch creates a tick on the rotation but for only 30 seconds or so, it does not completely interrupt the music but it is noticeable.  Very unfortunate because this EP is close to EX without the scratch.

Cover:  EX   Beautiful!  Seams are basically perfect and the front cover is lovely!  Some light discoloration on back from it's 60 years, won't find this any cleaner!

Labels: Clean

Record Grading Scale:

NM THE RECORD IS IMMACULATE, NEARLY PERFECT WITH THE SURFACE RETAINING FULL GLOSS AND NO SURFACE SCRATCHES

NM- THE RECORD SURFACE RETAINS A HIGH GLOSS, PERHAPS ONE OR TWO EXTREMELY FAINT MARKS, STILL EXTREMELY CLEAN

EX THAT PLACE RIGHT IN BETWEEN VG++ AND NM-

VG++ THE RECORD RETAINS MUCH OF ITS ORIGINAL SHINE, FEW LIGHT SURFACE MARKS AND OR LIGHT SCRATCHES MAY BE NOTED ON FAIRLY CLOSE EXAMINATION

VG+ THE RECORD STILL RETAINS SOME SHINE, SURFACE MARKS & SCRATCHES MAY OCCUR BUT ARE LIMITED AND TEND TO BE MODERATE TO LIGHT.  RECORD WILL PLAY VERY WELL WITH VERY LIGHT SURFACE NOISE MOSTLY HEARD DURING A QUIET PASSAGE.

VG  AVERAGE USED RECORD FROM HEAVY ROTATION, MAY HAVE STARTED TO LOSE ORIGINAL SHINE, SOME OBVIOUS SURFACE MARKS AND/OR SURFACE SCRATCHES WHICH MAY CAUSE SURFACE SOUNDS, ESPECIALLY IN SOFT PASSAGES

VG-  THE RECORD HAS BEEN PLAYED SEVERAL TIMES, THE VINYL MAY APPEAR DULL, MAY HAVE LOTS OF TINY MARKS OR SURFACE SCRATCHES WHICH MAY BE FELT, SURFACE MARKS MAY BE HEAVY AND SURFACE NOISE MAY BE NOTICEABLE THROUGHOUT

G  RECORD MAY HAVE OBVIOUS WEAR FROM HEAVY ROTATION, SURFACE MARKS & SCRATCHES WHICH CAUSE SIGNIFICANT SURFACE NOISE AND CAN BE FELT
