Description

A 'must' for any self respecting Motorhead nut...the DEBUT on original Chiswick label from '77. Matrix A1/B1. Etching "WIK2/1". Please note the label design is consistent with very 1st press..in fact I believe this title is one of the 1st ever to be released on the newly formed Chiswick label. The vinyl comes housed in an original 1st issue cover...and there are a number of attributes that help identify a true 1st issue. They employed heavy-card for manufacture and it is heavy-laminated [no pun!] BOTH sides. The covers were printed by 'PRESS & POST' and have NO TEXT on the spines..which, in itself, is quite unusual. And don't forget they managed to misspell Lemmy's name on the rear several times.!.. Also included is a genuine original inner sleeve. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex+) Well, this really is one of those stunning slabs of vinyl ..it has seen precious little use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Without a doubt THE BEST rendition of the debut I've ever heard. Superb highs and lows beautifully rendered. Whilst Motorhead is generally a barrage of high-octane sound please rest assured this copy is clean with nothing audible in the intros and inbetweens. A pretty muck faultless rendition. I'll do my usual catch-all...you might pick up a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments...But you will never better this copy...
Cover (Ex/Ex+) Wowzers, I wasn't too sure when I picked this copy up whether it was, in fact, a reissue from the last couple of years! It just looks so darn good.. I just couldn't believe it had been in the hands of a Motorhead fan from 1977..something of a miracle! The front is shiny like new, flat as a pancake, and exhibits NO creasing. The only thing I can make out is a tiny amount of laminate lift along side the spine edge [and one would imagine that this is pretty much obligatory from the day of manufacture]. Ditto the rear - pretty much immaculate. I, for sure, have never seen one quite this neat! Edge wear is pretty much non-existent and the openings are still sharp. The spine is literally perfect..some spines are GREAT..and this one is LEGENDARY! All the corners are nice and pointed...and overall the cover retains perfect rigidity. It has the look and feel of a newly printed cover..FINAL UPGRADE.
Inner (Ex/Ex+) Perfect condition. No signs of ageing. No splits or hidden marking.
