I am offering for sale my personal sealed copy of Muddy Waters "Sail On" on Chess LP - 1539 from a smoke-free home. Muddy Waters needs no introduction, being one of the greatest blues men of all time. "Sail On" is a reissue of "Best of Muddy Waters" on Chess LP 1427. "Sail On" does not have the same song order as "Best of Muddy Waters," but the same songs are on both. These recordings date from 1948 - 1954. Some tracks recordings are from 78's and have the typical hiss. Others are more modern sounding. The sound really doesn't really matter considering how incredible these songs and performances are. On "Sail On" the recordings are much better documented than on "Best of Muddy Waters." This record is essential to anyone who is a blues fan. Muddy WAS the blues. Sadly, I never saw him perform live.
As stated, the record is sealed. There is a 1/2" cut in the cover at the top left near the corner. The shrink wrap is intact other than where that cut is. This is about as good as it gets, unless you find an uncut sealed copy. Good luck with that.
