Description
Scarce vintage record set: DECCA Presents a Collection of OLD TIME FIDDLIN' PIECES played by CLAYTON MCMICHEN (Champion Fiddler); Decca Records, Album No. 66, with three 78 rpm 10" records in a unique tri-fold sleeve; 18 tracks; record catalog nos. are 2647, 2648 and 2649; this was released in 1939. An all-instrumental collection of traditional classic fiddle tunes by one of the greatest old time fiddlers. Each 78 has a medley of 3 fiddle tunes per side, often with banjo accompaniment, with standards such as Turkey in the Straw/Old Hen cackle/Fiddler's Dram/Devils Dream/Fire On the Mountain/Ida Red/Sally Goodin/Soldier's Joy/Arkansas Traveler/Sourwood Mountain/Sugar in the Gourd etc.
Jacket has a broken spine so the set lays on top of each other, Each record has a solid cardboard backing. Records have scuffs and scratches but are in good condition and play well.
