The compilation Open Strings is a remarkable collection of Middle Eastern music from the pre-war era and new recordings, as presented by the ever-reliable imprint Honest Jon's. All of these tracks were drawn from EMI's massive Hayes archives and were recorded in locales as varied as Turkey, Iran, Egypt and Iraq.

GRADING. Grading is visual only unless otherwise stated. I go by Goldmine standards and try to be conservative. I will play grade on certain items only - it is just impossible for me to play grade everything I put on EBAY. MINT means factory sealed, never opened or played. NM is opened but in visually brand new, out-of-the-packaging clean condition. NM- is not NM! Its a grade above VG++ and below Near Mint - it does not imply perfect. In my terminology Scratches are feeler type and Scuffs are just cosmetic and usually inaudible.
