PATTO - HOLD YOUR FIRE

1971 UK Vertigo Swirl 1st press prog rock gem - brilliant copy with terrific audio and great condition original 3-flap foldout outer sleeve

Year/Label : 1971 UK VERTIGO swirl
Label number : STEREO 6360 032
Matrix numbers : 6360032 1Y//1 420,  6360032 2Y//1 420
Stampers :  11 4 04  /  11 2  04
Excellent plus (EX+) condition vinyl - in normal daylight, perfect - gleaming with a beautiful jet black sheen. With close inspection under a bright light it's just about possible to detect a couple of extremely faint and purely superficial paper scuffs on side 1, side 2 appears to be unmarked. Each label is near perfect with the iconic Vertigo Swirl logo and black text remaining perfectly intact - if you look closely it's just possible to detect a couple of small and very faint spindle lines adjacent to the centre hole on each - that's it! The condition of the original and notoriously fragile UK 1st press non-laminated Howards Printers 3-flap foldout "gimmix" sleeve is a strong excellent (EX). The superb art work, graphics, and sleeve text all remain beautifully intact with no cardboard creasing and no unwanted writing. The three flaps remain fully intact with no tears, rips or creasing, each edge remains firm with no scuffing except for just a little very minor intermittent light scuffing on the bottom edge, The spine remains firm with all spine text perfectly intact, the opening edges are firm with no fraying, and each corner remains a near perfectly defined right angle with absolutely minimal rubbing. The only blemishes (too strong a word!), are just a couple of small and very light handling storage marks on the front side towards the bottom left corner, a tiny "nick" on the inside of the bottom flap towards the bottom edge, and another handling/storage mark on the facing interior side towards the bottom edge. Each very, very trivial. The audio quality is near mint (NM) with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, clicks, interference, distortion or background crackle. Outstanding, with great tone, crystal clear instrumentation and vocals - perfect! Clearly this record has been very sparingly played.  Comes with great condition and original poly-lined Vertigo Swirl inner sleeve, correctly dated as "0671"  with no seam splits, just some very mild creasing, and a little age discolouration towards the top edges. Brilliant!
One of the hardest UK Vertigo swirls to get hold of, and I doubt that there are many UK 1st press copies in better condition than this one!
POSTAGE COSTS :

For the UK £9 using Royal Mail special delivery;

for continental Europe £13 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for,

and for the rest of the world £19 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for.

I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
