THE PEELERS

BANISHED MISFORTUNE

1972 UK POLYDOR FOLK-MILL 2460 165

2460165 A//1 420 3 1 1

2460165 B//1 420 1 1 1

Here is a super-rare barely played 1972 uk polydor first pressing of the excellent album by the very obscure three piece Hippie folk band 'The Peelers'. This very rare album was released on the short lived Polydor Folk-Mill series and like all other Folk-Mill releases it sold almost zero copies and then sank without a trace, and now along with Barry Dransfield's self titled album and C.O.B.s acid-folk-psych masterpiece 'Moyshe Mcstiff & The Tartan Lancers Of The Sacred Heart', this mega-rare 'Peelers' Hippie-Acid-Folk gem is one of the rarest and hardest to find in the Folk-Mill series of albums.

The vinyl is in stunning NM condition and plays and sounds superb throughout, it's very obvious that this album has only ever had just one or two very careful plays since new. The labels are in perfect condition and the very fragile thin soft card single sleeve is in very good+ condition having some edge and spine wear as almost all copies that turn up do. The vinyl really is in stunning unmarked condition but there is a noticeable but non serious edge warp that does not affect play at all.

1St PRESS STEREO VINYL = NM (LOOKS AS NEW)

The stereo vinyl is in amazing ultra-clean playing condition and grades an immaculate NEAR MINT. Both sides still have that brilliant just pressed blemish free appearance, there are no visible surface marks, scuffs or scratches at all and both sides really do look in near flawless as new condition. All tracks play superbly well throughout with no clicks or pops and no annoying loud crackle, there is the absolute minimal amount of occasional extremely light hiss/crackle only and this really is almost none at all. This record has obviously only ever had just one or two very careful plays since new so the sound quality still has a perfect crystal clear clarity throughout. As already mentioned this album does have a noticeable edge warp, but this has absolutely no affect on play at all. The winning bidder will definitely not be disappointed with this brilliant looking/playing/sounding original uk 1st pressing of this superb Hippie-acid-folk gem.

LABELS = MINT-

Both polydor labels are in faultless clean and bright wear free condition and look brand new.

SOFT CARD SINGLE SLEEVE = VERY GOOD+

This single cover was made and printed in the uk by MacNeill press Ltd of London. This cover is made from very soft thin card similar to that used for 'C.O.B.s Moyshe Mcstiff' Folk-Mill gatefold sleeve. This delicate 'Peelers' cover still looks great and grades as very good+ condition. There is consistent spine wear all the way along and the top and bottom edges are also consistently worn, but there are no seem splits or any other major defects. The front and back covers are in excellent condition with just very minimal wear/marking. As the pictures show, this cover still looks in very nice condition, this delicate cover has turned up in far worse condition in the past so this is actually a great example.

I pack my records very well, the album will be removed from the outer cover to avoid seem/edge splits in transit, plenty of rigid cardboard support will be used to avoid corners bending, this album will reach you in the same condition as advertised.
