Up for bid is a very Rare Original release/pressing on Milwaukee Label (only 2000 were pressed). Record is in VG+++ to M-, I do lean more to the VG+++ on side one because of some very light surface scuffs. you have to tilt the records in the light to see them. They do not affect the beautiful sound. I have played through on both sides and it sound beautiful. Cover is in M-, however it might grade it NM if the there wasn't a price and date Witten on the top of the front cover. Please let the photos guide you and questions always welcome. A legendary bit of jazzy soul recorded by Penny Goodwin, an obscure female singer from Milwaukee.
Penny has a warm style that is pretty darn nice on its own, but it’s made even better by the great arranger Richard Evan, who helped out a lot on the session, along with Phil Upchurch (G), and Morris Jennings (Ds). The feel is very much in the Chicago sophisti-soul mode and, at times, the record sounds a lot like Marlena Shaw’s best work in the ’70s, particularly her sides for Blue Note in the early part of the decade.
