Description

A 1st issue of the WALL on the UK Harvest label in 1979. Matrix A3/B3/A4/B3. 'TML-M/X'. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. Please note the original 1st issue cover is easily identified by the absence of the band members names in the brick directly above the 'baby in the cell'. All later reissues mention the band members names in purple in this brick. Also included are the original thick-card round cornered inner sleeves with notches at the top.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In lovely condition and have clearly only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks per side - but nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback and only one slight deviation. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. THE WALL is full of what is often very low-key audio and many copies suffer some sort of interference which can be off-putting with this title. This particular example performs to a very high standard. We only detected a touch of light static in a couple of isolated moments per side. The one slight deviation is a slight static rustle in the opening few seconds of the record. As soon as the main volume of the track begins it recedes quickly.
Cover (Ex) Front and back seem to have pretty much totally avoided the ageing process. The interior looks great - with no issues at all. Edge wear is very light for this title and the openings are still sharp. The spine looks very nice too. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. Nice!
Inners (Ex/Ex-) A one c.m. bottom edge split on one inner. The other one - no splits.
