Description

A 1st issue of the WALL on the UK Harvest label from 1979. Matrix A6/B3/A6/B2. 'TML-M/X'. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. Please note the original 1st issue cover is easily identified by the absence of the band members names in the brick directly above the 'baby in the cell'. All later reissues mention the band members names in purple in this brick. Also included are the original thick-card round cornered inner sleeves with notches at the top.
Vinyl (Ex) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection there are a few lights marks, but nothing heavy or likely to feature audibly. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are mostly silent and the audio comes across with excelent clarity. Interference is very minor and infrequent. In fact all we could detect were a few crackles in the odd isolated moment, and one click in 'Happiest Days'. You really need a nice clean playing copy of THE WALL in order to fully appreciate its subtleties.
Cover (Ex-) In very nice condition and exhibiting very little ageing at all. We can only really make out a tiny stain at the top of the spine - and certainly nothing unsightly. Front and back are in great condition with just light handling wear. The interior is pretty much immaculate. Edge wear is very light and only vaguely noticeable at the bottom of the spine. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and remains a lovely specimen.
Inners (Ex-) Without ageing. And only one bottom edge split [1 inch]
