Description
- Blue Note Records BLP 1538, this is an original US mono pressing - NOT a recent reissue - of the classic Lee Morgan LP "Indeed". This pressing has the deep groove labels on both sides, with the "161 Lexington Avenue" address notation; "RVG" is clearly etched in the dead was on both sides, as is the infamous "ear" symbol. There are no "R" registration notations on labels, nor on the back of the jacket. Dead wax reads "BN-LP-1538-A." on side 1 and "BN-LP-1538-B." on side 2; there is no "9M" in said dead wax, and it is NOT a "flat edge". Jacket grades about VG, showing some rubbing and handling; there is some paper flaking/cracking at edges, and some ring wear at bottom center front. Bottom seam looks like it has interior paper tape reinforcement; there is no outer tape on any edge or corners Still, even with these flaws, it looks pretty decent. Vinyl is VG as well, showing some surface marks and scuffs on either side. Playback is still solid, with some background crackle at the beginning of each side, between songs, and during some quieter interludes, but nothing I ever found overpowering; there are no skips or repeats, and labels are crisp with no spindle wear.
