Description

Queen : Innuendo A2/B2 1st Press

This first press plays with great clarity on both sides and there are no clicks or pops.  There is only a minimal amount of light static which is only a little intrusive on 'Innuendo' but only for a few seconds.  It is not loud!

As can be seen the cover is in superb condition and rarely has the original sticker on it.  It is so clean and has none of the marking or staining that you so often see.  The lyric inner is also in superb order.

Please wait for the invoice before making payment thank you.

PCSD 115 // A - 2U / B - 2U

The audio on S1 is Near Mint (Mint- for the majority / Track 1 'Spanish' section Ex)

The audio on S2 is Near Mint (Mint- for the majority / Track 4 Near Mint-)

The cover is Near Mint

The lyric inner is Mint-

The labels are Mint-

Visual grading

The vinyl has a lovely glossy sheen and whilst there are a few sleeve removal hairlines there are no scratches or marks.  There are a couple of faint 'haze' areas which is generally caused by being kept inside the inner sleeve for so long but they have no bearing on the superb audio.  Overall this is a very impressive looking vinyl that has certainly not been overplayed.  There is very little spindle wear and the labels are also very clean.

Play grading

'Innuendo' has only minimal static on the intro which soon disappears and as the vocal comes in the playback is stunning!  There is no interference and the depth and power of the audio is so impressive.  It continues to play with sublime quality and the quieter Spanish guitar section has only light static and a couple of seconds of crackle.  The music still comes through very clearly though.  The faster 'flamenco' section plays perfectly and the remainder of the track is faultless.  From May's guitar work to the final vocal the audio is stunning, just a little static right at the end.  The vast majority of this track is Near Mint but the 'Spanish' section is Ex in my opinion.

'I'm Going Slightly Mad' has a couple of static ticks on the intro and then plays nigh on perfectly.  There are a couple of static ticks but they are largely 'lost' in the music and overall this grades as Near Mint.

'Headlong' is loud and true throughout with no interference of any kind.  The definition of the audio cannot be faulted and I cannot stress enough how strong and precise this version is.  There are no clicks or pops and is worthy of a Mint- grading.

'I Can't Live With You' is nigh on perfect with only a couple of mega light ticks on the fade out 'Ride The Wild Wind' also plays with sublime quality with only a couple of light ticks on the intro.  They are both stunning versions and play with audio that is so deep and rich and it is clear the vinyl has not been overplayed.  They grade as Mint- the quality is exceptional.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

'All God's People' is superb from the opening groove and continues to play with sublime quality.  There is no 'background' and the clarity is equal to that of a vinyl pressed only yesterday! Mint- without a doubt.

The classic 'These Are The Days Of Our Lives' plays with great clarity and all I heard were a small number of barely audible dust ticks.  There is no intrusive interference whatsoever but will grade as Near Mint although I am sure many would grade higher.  This is a very impressive version with no clicks or pops.

'Delilah' plays with immaculate precision and grades as Mint- it is that good.  The sonic quality is so strong and there is just no 'background' of any kind.

'Don't Try So Hard' has only minimal static on the intro and there are no clicks or pops.  The first chorus is 'as new' and it continues to play very clearly with only a little non-intrusive static in the quieter sections.  The static is very minimal and this grades as Near Mint- I would say.

As you would expect 'The Hitman' plays with real power and depth throughout.  Despite being such a 'high octane' track each note can be heard so clearly and there is no interference at all.  This is Mint- from start to finish.

'Bijou' is very impressive when you consider how quietly it plays.  So often it plays with static/crackle and yet the playback here is so 'clean'.  There is barely any static and obviously there are no clicks or pops.  A lovely Near Mint version, there cannot be many around that are as good as this.

The all time classic 'The Show Must Go On' begins superbly with no obvious static on the intro and continues to play with a depth and power that is only found on well preserved copies.  There is only a minor touch of inner groove distortion near the end but it takes nothing away from the overall 'sound' which is sensational!  The power and strength of the audio cannot be underestimated and even the 'Go on' repeated fade out has hardly any static.  I will grade this as Near Mint just to be cautious but this truly is a fantastic version!

In summary this first pressing plays with wonderful audio on both sides with no real intrusion.  There is only the bare minimum of static and no clicks or pops.  The clarity and sonic quality is very impressive and the cover is also in superb condition as is the lyric inner.

The Cover

The cover is extremely clean and has lost none of its original white colour at all which is rare these days.  It is so often badly marked or stained but not this one!  The edges and spine have no shelf wear at all and there is no obvious corner wear either, just one tiny rub on the lower right corner.  The opening edge has only the bare minimum of handling wear.  The front cover has the original sticker top right and as stated both the front and back cover have no marking of any kind.  This is a stunning first press cover and they are rarely seen as good as this today.

The Lyric Inner

This is near perfect with only a couple of very faint creases which are difficult to spot!

The Labels

They have retained their original colour perfectly and have no marking or writing on them.  There is only a couple of short spindle traces on S1 and only a little more on S2.
