NEWS OF THE WORLD 2/2 very early pressing

On offer here is a fantastic second pressing of News of The World.  As detailed below the audio is practically of Mint standard and the gatefold has also been taken great care of.

Visual grading

  This is visually in stunning condition.  There are no scratches or hairlines of any note and I have rarely seen better.  Retaining that glossy sheen of new vinyl it has been superbly well looked after.  There are also no spindle lines on the labels proving it has only been lightly played if at all.

Play grading  

Side One plays with immaculate sound.  With only absolute minimal lead in static you know you're onto a winner!  In fact there is hardly any static across the whole side, the clarity and richness of sound is of a very high standard.  'All Dead All Dead' is a case in point being such a quiet song and any static you can hear is so much in the background as to be totally negligible.  It would be difficult to improve upon the quality on show here and there is also complete silence between the tracks which is a rarity.  'Fight from the Inside' does have a little distortion perhaps but it remains an excellent listen for a vinyl approaching 40 years of age. 

'Get Down Make Love' has almost zero lead in static and then continues to play with wonderful audio.  'Sleeping...' and 'Who Needs You' then play as Mint the sound quality is astounding.  The classic 'It's Late' does not disappoint either and plays almost as new.  'My Melancholy Blues' ends proceedings with impeccable audio again with just a touch of very quiet intermittent static.  I cannot stress just how good this side is!  The audio in my opinion could not be beaten.

In summary the audio on this second pressing is practically of Mint standard for the majority.  You expect to hear some static sounds/dust ticks on new vinyl but there is barely any interference to be heard on this vinyl.  This quality early pressing would not disappoint any fan.  

Gatefold cover

The G & L gatefold has stood the test of time extremely well and is one of the cleanest I have seen.  The edges are very clean with only a couple of areas of minor rubbing.  The wide spine has a little shelf wear on the top and bottom but you would expect that after all these years, it is still minimal.  The inside of the gatefold and back cover are in supreme condition also and there are no marks anywhere.  It is without doubt one of the best you will find for such an early pressing.

Lyric inner

This die-cut lyric inner is in great condition when you consider it is made of paper.  So often they have major splits but this one only has one very small 3cm area of wear at the bottom.  Other than that it is extremely clean with no marks anywhere.
