We have a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 2/3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers.
We mail all paid orders out once a week on Fridays/Saturdays. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule to Monday. We strive to keep our shipping and handling costs as close to actual charges as reasonable. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. Please be aware we have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.

Led by the then unknown powerhouse elfian vocalist Ronnie James Dio who went on a couple of years after this album to fame and fortune, singing for Black Sabbath...as well as under his own heavy rock band, Dio...but it's the early 70's right now, and...Here we crash against this Elf band, the American hard rockers who issued 3 collectible albums, and also Deep Purple proteges circa 1974 with the explosive vocals of a Mr Ronald Padavona (AKA 'the ELF'), who quickly would be ecumenically known as Ronnie James Dio, turning into one of the heavyrock voice par excellence. At the time Elf were issued by means of UK Purple records, conspicuous label property of the English hard rock legend, and also this LP was produced by Purple bassist Roger Glover himself, album entitled in the UK "Carolina County Ball" ( aka "LA 59" in the US)
Elf were a boogie HARDROCK group with a drinking bar vibe, and the line up, besides of Dio, consisted of Micky Lee Soule on keys, a rhythm section featuring Gary Driscoll & Craig Gruber on drums and bass respectively, and a Steve Edwards on guitar, was the band that accompanied Ritchie Blackmore in his incursion "Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow" which with the time would turn into Rainbow, naturally and Dio moving on to Black Sabbath
"L.A. '59" is a cool little album, imbibed with infectious hard-rock & roll and R&B, fine to listen to, first, because the little big man is on vocals, and second because showcases a vintage hardrock 70s' tastes; several standouts like "LA 59", "Happy", "Annie New Orleans", the emotional "Rocking chair/Rock 'n' roll blues", "Rainbow" and the naïve outro "Blanche"; both sides strong enough that most of the album is very even and recommendable.
Don't expect to find heavy metal and holy divers in "L.A. '59", just good-old hard rock with a boogie kick...
