The Guitar Evangelist - Edward W. Clayborn 78 " In Time Of Trouble Jesus Will Never Say Goodbye / God's Riding Through The Land " VOCALION #1162  78 RPM 1928. Singing with guitar. "Reverend Edward W. Clayborn was an American musician, known as the "Guitar Evangelist". He sang a form of blues gospel similar to Blind Willie Johnson.  Clayborn recorded forty songs, for Vocalion Records between 1926 and 1930. In The Ganymede Takeover, the San Franciscan author Philip K. Dick, a record enthusiast, has a character state that "True Religion", sung by Clayborn was one of the first jazz recordings.". The record is mostly excellent. Shiny bright. There is a small depression in the wax near the end of play. A record plant defect possibly. It looks almost like someone stuck their thumb in hot was at this spot and pushed in a bit. Nothing to affect the play. Also just VERY slightly warped (twisted). It is hard to see looking at it. It wobbles just a bit when played. The record is very nice otherwise. A faint streak or scuff here and there. Both sides played well on my equipment with the usual light background "sizzling" His voice and guitar come through loud and strong. The labels are good with light yellowing and light spindle tracks. Buyer pays priority shipping to be determined by your ZIP. NOTE: Priority ONLY on 78s.  Foreign to be determined..
