Hello and welcome. Beginning in the 1960s, I made it my goal to collect every 5-star record still available, and I continued my search for 40 years. While not all the records I list for sale reached that lofty goal, they do represent an undying search for the unique and wonderful in the world of sound. I'm happy to be able to offer them to you now. Here is what you're bidding on:
TITLE: "Soothing Sounds for Baby Volume III 12 to 18 Months" ARTIST: Raymond Scott LABEL: Epic Records LN 24085 Monaural Pressing in Excellent condition CONDITION: JACKET - Excellent(Jacket is completely original, with light age and edge wear, an original staple in top left corner, and light dings to the opening corners - Please see actual album photos) VINYL - Excellent(Vinyl glows with vitality on Side 2; Side 1 glows also, but has several scuff marks - Graded using special daylight balanced spotlight)
SPECIAL FEATURES: Extremely rare original first pressing in clear and sharp original Epic Monaural sound featuring the legendary Raymond Scott's third volume of "Soothing Sounds". NOTE: This very unusual recording is an early attempt to use electronic sounds to soothe babies. It includes the very rare booklet entitled "Special Informative Booklet by the GESELL INSTITUTE OF CHILD DEVELOPMENT, INC, Volume III, 12 to 18 Months", also in Excellent condition! This one does not come along very often.
A personal note: I never knew of this album when my granddaughter came along, but I was a big fan of Perrey and Kingsley, so she grew up giggling to the delightful sounds of their albums. This was a precursor...

OUR GRADING SYSTEM: We grade visually, and we are happy to listen to any LP and give you an aural grade as well. SS (Still Sealed as from the factory); NM (Near Mint - our highest grade; the vinyl has only a very few light marks that do not affect play); VG++ (Very Good Plus Plus - a few more light marks than Near Mint; still a great record that plays near perfectly); VG+ (Very Good Plus - an enjoyable, played and loved, obviously used but still listenable record, usually with some light pops, but free of major audible distraction; jacket may be lightly worn, slightly dinged, even very lightly split, but NEVER trashed); VG (Very Good) and below - we usually do NOT sell these, but if we have some good reason to offer such a record, we will explain completely).
