Description
Available here is a 12" vinyl record by Sam Gopal - Escalator. Issued by Stable Records in 1969, it’s UK 1st pressing with the catalogue number SLE 8001. The record is rather rare and very collectible and notable for an appearance by Lemmy (as Ian Willis) in the band as song-writer, vocalist and lead guitar.
Identifiers - The record has the following matrix marks -

Vinyl Condition - Very Good - A solid piece of vinyl which weighs in at 170gms and which is reasonably bright and clean. There are no worrying scratches although examination will reveal a few light surface marks and scuffs. However, there’s nothing that causes major ill-effect or concern. Having listened to both sides, I can attest to a crisp and clear sound and there is no jumping or sticking. Occasional minor clicks are likely to be heard, with a little background crackle at times but nothing excessive or detracting. I’ve only given a bit of a clean but the sound quality may well improve further with a little more dedicated attention.
Sleeve/Cover Condition - Good+ - Original textured gatefold sleeve which I’ve down-graded due to a split which runs along most of the length of the right hand lower seam i.e. the bottom edge. The left side is not affected. However, at some point it has been repaired internally with a card strip affixed in order to strengthen and ensure that the record doesn’t slip out. This strip is effectively hidden, unless you look for it. There is also age related wear in the form of a little edge/corner rubbing and minor stress creasing. The spine has been rather flattened out and the two halves of the gatefold are slightly out of square. Looks like some of the spine rubbing has been blended or darkened in three or four places with a black felt-tip pen but not detractingly so. Inner has age and is largely plain white but with some printing. The reality is that the sleeve looks better than I may have described.

It is not my intention to profit from postage. If possible I use good clean recyclable material but I also buy bubble wrap, brown paper, packing tape and glue and all items are well wrapped and protected before posting. Items are also weighed and postage calculated before I list at auction and a small percentage of the charge does go towards packing costs.
