"Smiley Smile" is one of the most intriguing and influential albums in pop history, born from the legendary, unfinished "SMiLE" sessions. Recorded primarily in Brian Wilson's home studio, it moved away from symphonic complexity toward a unique, lo-fi psychedelic sound. This is the original 1967 first pressing on the band's own Brother Records label (the label's debut release). It features the definitive versions of "Heroes and Villains" and the 1966 masterpiece "Good Vibrations."
💎 CONDITION vinyl: Presumed MINT (unplayed) cover: Factory-sealed, never opened 🧾 NOTES FOR COLLECTORS-
First Edition / First Press: This is the genuine first issue with the "T 9001" catalog number and the original yellow Brother Records logo on the front cover.
-
Mono Rarity: For many collectors, the Mono mix (T-prefix) is the only way to listen to this album. Brian Wilson famously preferred Mono, and this mix offers a punchier, more cohesive experience than the later stereo reissues.
-
Sleeper Rarity: While "Smiley Smile" was once overlooked, it is now considered a psychedelic pop masterpiece. Finding an original mono copy in the original shrink wrap is increasingly difficult and makes this a high-level investment piece.
-
Labels: Original yellow Brother Records labels (based on catalog T 9001).
