Abu Araki - Gismi intahil Munsphone Sudan 197?Beautiful early recording by Sudanese singer Abu Araki Al-Bakhit, whose later work was banned by Sudan authorities. This song, like the other Munsphone singles I am selling, is split up over two sides of the record. Heavy percussion backdrop and strings plus the sweet vocals of Abu Araki, lovely song and this is the only place to find it... Distinct Arabic sound in the vein of Mohamed Wardi and other Sudanese greats, this should also appeal if you're into the Ethio soul/jazz sound of the 70s, just listen...
Other releases on this label have been equally hard to find, few records from the era seem to have survived. Check out the snippet and have a look at my other items for three more singles on the same label. In very nice shape, these look and sound as if they were not played very often. The sleeve is written in Arabic, mine is a phonetic transcription of the title.
