Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. SUPER RARE ...never see this one and on the obscure USA "President" label ...
Original 1968 first pressing of British hip cats from the Swinging London scene, a striking interracial band for the times, beyond that, they've got a cool, unique sorta sound, and led by Eddie Grant, who became famous some 10 years later....
The Equals are well worth the time of anyone who enjoys quality 60's pop ... with a twist. What's the twist? Not really sure - it has an exotic flavor that I can't quite put my finger on - Eddy Grant's responsible for it... Having just graduated from the British equivalent of high school, in 1965 a then 16 year old Eddy Grant recruited some school friends to form a band. The original line up consisted of Grant on lead guitar, rhythm guitarist Lincoln Gordon, brother/vocalist Dervin Gordon, drummer John Hall and second rhythm guitarist Pat Lloyd. Initially Grant was the only member who could play his instrument, but with extensive practice within a year they were playing on the London club circuit and serving as backing band for a wide array of touring US artists.1968 saw the band signed by President Records which promptly released the single 'I Won't Be There' b/w 'Fire' (President catalog number PT-117). While the 45 tanked, it generated sufficient attention for President to finance a follow-up album. 1968's "The Equals "Supreme" serves up the band's unique mix of musical styles. Late sixties pop at its very best. Unpretentious fun delivered with power and enthusiasm... Flowing smoothly in it's range, the album includes convincing stabs at UK pop & popsike craft with hard edge mixes combined with catchy melodies, guitar playing and swinging rhythms...
