RARE AND HARD-TO-FIND RECORDS FROM CHILE (South America) FOR COLLECTORS WORLDWIDE ALL OUR RECORDS ARE PLAY TESTED AND THEY ARE IN GREAT CONDITION _________________________________   SYLVIE VARTAN With Orchestra Conducted By Eddie Vartan “SYLVIE”   RARE RCA Victor Records very first MONO press released by RCA Victor Records, made and distributed in Chile in 1966 by Corporación De Radio De Chile S.A. (CRC Records), catalog number CML-2384, with machine etched matrix numbers CML-2384-A AA in Side 1 and CML-2384-B AA in Side 2, with black/silver RCA Records labels and rounded “RCA” logo. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile for all lovers, fans and collectors of Sylvie Vartan and French pop/beat of the ‘60’s!!! WOW!!! “Sylvie” was originally released in France in 1966 and the same year we got the album released here in Chile, and like so many times of the period, we got it with an UNIQUE COVER made of a single piece of cardboard folded in the middle faking a gatefold cover with two sheets of paper attached (only glued in the mouth edge) to that cardboard for front and back cover, so 3 sides are open and kept together for a plastic bag. Front cover keeps strictly the original artwork, with the only difference in the catalog number. Back cover is totally different, it only has the name of Sylvie Vartan, a picture of her and the tracklist. The tracklist is written in Spanish, translated to French (except in the case of song number 3 of Side 2, written in English only, and song number 5 of Side 2, translated to English), with full credits for songwriters. In labels the tracklist is only written in Spanish, except for song “Monkey And Shout”, written in English, with full credits for songwriters. In both back cover and labels it’s also informed the style of song of each song, “monkey”, “slow monkey” or “ballad”. But this LP “Sylvie”, released in Chile, it’s not the original French LP “Sylvie”!!! Yes, Sirs, we got this LP with the same front cover but the album is really a compilation of her earlier hits, only 3 songs are included in original French issue of “Sylvie”. The tracklist is: Side 1: 1    CUANDO ESTAS AQUI (Quand Tu Es Là) 2    ERES TU (Baby, C'est Vous) 3    GONG GONG 4    NO TE VAYAS (N'en Te Va Pas) 5    OYE NIÑA (Dansons) 6    ESTA CARTA (Cette Lettre La) Side 2: 1    SI TU NO EXISTIERAS (Si Tu N'existais Pas) 2    LAS PELICULAS TRISTES (Quan Le Film Est Triste) 3    MONKEY AND SHOUT 4    ES FANTASTICO (C'était Trop Beau) 5    QUE TE DIJE (What'd I Say) 6    MI OTRO QUERER (Il Y A Deux Filles En Moi)   Well, if you know the discography of Sylvie Vartan, maybe you have already noticed that photo included in back cover of this Chilean issue it’s the same photo used in back cover in her 1962 debut album “Sylvie”, but with a “little” detail, in this Chilean press the photo is inverted, in original LP of 1962 the photo faces right hand and in this edited photo of this Chilean LP it faces left hand!!! WOW!!! So, here you have the chance to get and own this UNIQUE COMPILATION ALBUM by Sylvie Vartan, ONLY RELEASED IN CHILE, with UNIQUE COVER, UNIQUE BLACK AND WHITE BACK COVER design and UNIQUE TRACKLIST!!! WOW!! A MUST TO HAVE!!! The cover was already described and it’s in great VG or VG+ condition, only with some minimal wear in edges, more evident in corners and in the mouth edge, with a little rip in the mouth edge in front cover, some age browning, a dedication written in back cover, a faint blemish at bottom right corner in back cover and a pair of little “holes”, it seems some insect tried to eat this cover, but it’s small and discreet. The record is in VG or VG+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, with many scuffs, light hairlines and some soft scratches, with some factory marks in Side 2, which of course don’t affect play at all. Labels on both sides are in great EX or EX+ condition, clean and clear, with only some spindle hole wear, more evident in Side 2, with the name of some past owner written in Side 2 even though hard to see at first sight. The sound is the best part, it’s in great EX- or EX condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with only some soft crackles here and there and some occasional light clicks, more evident in songs number 2 and 4 of Side 2, which of course don’t cause major distraction from the still loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end, with Side 1 closer to EX and Side 1 closer to EX-. Overall, maybe this is not a record for the strictest Minty minds and audiophiles, but sure it’s still a record with a very nice look, almost immaculate labels and still a great sound quality after 51 years, which won’t disappoint anyone!!! And don’t forget the UNIQUE COVER, UNIQUE BLACK AND WHITE BACK COVER artwork, UNIQUE TRACKLIST and that’s a MEGARARE PRESS ONLY RELEASED IN CHILE!!! Yes, Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!! Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again… Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile   _________________________________________________________   We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.   MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records. NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition. EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc. FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced. POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing. BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.   PAYMENT PayPal (send me a message if you offer some other way to pay that we can accept) Payment must be received within the first 7 seven days after the auction is ended   SHIPPING (Packing and Postage) We have an unique value worldwide: GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending on thickness of the vinyl) GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12") GBP10 for one 7” record All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.   FEEDBACK We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.   IMPORTANT TO READ We are not responsible for all the taxes, duties, fees you could have to pay in your country, but I always declare the records as gift. If you have some doubt or question feel free to contact us, we will be glad to answer all that you want to know about this item.   Check out my other RARE AND HARD-TO-FIND records from Chile and South America
