Description
This LP is getting very difficult to find.
It's on the UK Harvest label and is entitled 'An Asylum for the Musically Insane' by the prog/psych band, Tea and Symphony.
It's a stereo recording and the catalogue number is SHVL 761. It was released originally in 1969. It is a very rare record.
OUTER SLEEVE - The gatefold sleeve is laminated on the outside and is in fine condition. The front shows very minor wear. The rear sleeve again shows some very minor wear. The inside of the gatefold sleeve is in great condition with almost no wear or discolouration at all. The edges and spine are in great condition with just the occasional crease and one very minor split along the spine which can hardly be seen. There is no wording along the spine. I've graded the sleeve Ex-.
INNER BAG - Plain white die cut paper type with clear plastic inner.
RECORD - The record is in fine condition. It appears to have been played a few times. There are some superficial marks on each side. It plays through well on both sides with some minor surface noise and some one or two pops and clicks on both sides. There are no jumps on any of the tracks on either side but there is definite surface noise towards the end of track 4, side two.
LABELS - The labels are the original Harvest yellow and green labels with black wording. There are some spindle marks on both sides around the hole. The labels are in fine condition with no damage but there is the name 'R. Frost' written in black marker pen on each label and on side one there is evidence of a sticker which has been placed over this writing and subsequently removed. In my view, this does not detract from the overall quality of the record. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are - side one - SHVL 761 A-3U (stampers 1 A) - side two - SHVL 761 B-3U (stampers 1 G). I've graded the record as Ex- which I believe is very fair.
I try to grade everything very conservatively and I believe that the winner of this auction will not be disappointed. I guarantee everything I sell. It will be difficult to find this record again.
