Description
THE BEATLES
Title : Abbey Road Label : Apple Cat No : PCS 7088
Matrix : YEX 749-2 / YEX 750-1 Issue : UK 1st Press
This is the UK 1st Press of Abbey Road by The Beatles. The vinyl is complete with the earliest YEX 749-2 / YEX 750-1 matrix, the earliest dark green Apple label. The label omits the 'Her Majesty' text and the record is complete with the original plain inner sleeve and fully laminated misaligned Apple Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve.
The record is in Very Good condition. The vinyl has a sensational bright gloss, the grooves show no sign of heavy play at all. There are just a couple of needle marks on Side 1 however these do little to spoil this super glossy vinyl. It still has the original jet black finish and lies completely flat on the turntable.
The label is in Near Mint condition. This label shows little sign of age. The colours are bold, the white is crisp and bright and the text is sharp. There is NO spindle wear, just a couple of very faint spider marks.
The sound quality is Very Good. The vinyl lies completely flat on the turntable and the sound is exceptionally rich and vibrant. There is excellent clarity and audio separation, just the very slightest background noise and a couple of clicks on the marks but these are quiet and do not spoil the enjoyment of this album at any point.
The misaligned Apple Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve is in Near Mint condition. This has been in a clear sleeve since the day it was bought and it truly does look like it was printed yesterday. The colours are vivid, the whites are bright and the laminate has an amazing mirrorlike shine. It is completely flat with no creases and no bubbling. The edges are firm and the whole sleeve is solid. It is in exceptionally rare fabulous condition, the photos cannot do this sleeve justice - it is sensational.
