Hello and welcome to this auction for a 'Beatles - Help!' 1965 FIRST EVER MONO vinyl LP!
This particular pressing is the first ever mono pressing of Help! by The Beatles. What makes this pressing unusual is that it features an 'MT' tax code embossed into the centre of the Side 2 label. The tax code used in 1965 was KT...the MT tax code was used up to 1964 so this is quite unusual to see it on a 1965 pressing of Help!. It also comes with the period-correct Emitex inner sleeve.

Condition:
Vinyl (visual): Side 1 - there are some light hairline marks and sleeve removal trails but nothing deep. Retains a nice gloss and shine. Rated as VERY GOOD/VERY GOOD+. Label is VERY GOOD+ Side 2 - same as Side 1 except it has 2 non-feelable marks on tracks 1 and 2. Play tested below!
Audio: I have play-tested the first two tracks on either side and can confirm that there are NO SKIPS, NO STICKS and NO JUMPS on my system! The audio is graded as a strong VERY GOOD. The audio is punchy and crisp with some crackle that is more noticeable in the quieter parts. All instruments and vocals can be heard and it's a great player on these 4 tracks. A deep clean is always recommended to improve quality. The marks that I mention above do cause some repetitive clicks but they soon fade during the track.
Inner Sleeve: The original 1965 EMITEX inner sleeve is in GOOD+ condition. Unfortunately there is a 2" seam split to the bottom and a 4" seam split to the left. The record is still perfectly housed. Elsewhere, some discolouration and light creasing.
Sleeve: The original 1965 MONO flipback sleeve is currently rated as a strong VERY GOOD/VERY GOOD+! The front of the sleeve has a fantastic gloss and shine with no usual ringwear or laminate creasing! There is discolouration due to age with a few very light creases and marks but it's a great clean sleeve! There is a small, light seam split (PICTURED) but it doesn't affect how the record is housed and isn't too noticeable. The rear of the sleeve has two marks/stains on the track listing but it is very clean elsewhere. The flipbacks are held down tightly and slightly discoloured due to age. The spine is 100% readable and strong with the usual light creasing towards the corners. Overall, a fantastic sleeve that has some slight flaws but it's clean!
