The Sleeve: 1st & original Flipback sleeve in Very Good Condition.
Has some writing imprints on front and a date rubbed out on top flipback, it is fully laminated with only a few light surface creases. Mild storage wear to all corners with tiny bumps along opening, and a small retail punch-hole in each corner. All text legible and pictorials clear and glossy. The iconic front photo is superb, this is the darker image (later prints had a light green hue, and a lighter red 'Rubber Soul'). This is the original photograph with the tear on John Lennon's right shoulder not yet air-brushed out!
A clean and neat sleeve. Printed & made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patents Pending.
Inner Sleeve : This is the correct original EMI Emitex 'Made In England' tracing paper inner lined, light paper outer lined sleeve. Fully intact with no split seams, with a little wear along top seam.
The Vinyl: In Excellent- Condition, far better than the main sleeve may indicate. Surfaces retain a bright black glossy finish, having stood the test of time very well. Surfaces have only a few small feint non-feelable superficial hairlines, and a few wispy sleeve trails, all of which only really become noticeable when looked at in full bright light. No other marks such as smudges or dinks. The record lays completely flat on the turntable, with no warps.
Fairly heavy robust sixties vinyl weighing at 163 grams.
Labels are Very Good+. Text is clear and bright, the perimeter area around the spindle holes have fine spindle wear and spindle line traces are not too heavy.

The text for the song titles is the day of release Sans Serif block capital type with the asterisk spaced away, quickly replaced by Times New Roman font.
Stampers: Side 1: 2 GH
Side 2: 3 GP
The Audio: Excellent- quality audio which reflects its appearance. There are no stops, skips, or pops. There is little lessening in the original sound quality in terms of occasional light crackle.
Plays smoothly from start to finish with no noise that overcomes the audio, even track change interludes are fairly quiet with only light static tick on some.
A powerful rendition of what is becoming a hard LP to obtain in anything approaching Excellent.
This is commonly know as the 'Loud Cut' due to its more punchy, edgy bass line, and was quickly withdrawn after Xmas 1965.
The audio definition on the 1st press 'Loud Cut' is noticeable different to any of the subsequent releases in terms of bass line to vocals ratio.

This LP will be housed in a new thick PVC sleeve as shown and delivered in a professional cardboard LP mailer with cardboard stifferners.
A plain generic inner sleeve will house the record and the original will be placed separately to prevent tears during delivery.
I have used the Rare Record Collector Grading system in describing aspects of this record and grade conservatively.
