This is the first and original uncut mix of Rubber Soul with the first master matrices on both sides. It was a short lived pressing and was discontinued shortly after xmas 1965. It is referred to as the Loud Cut due to its more edgy, punchy bass line in comparison to later pressings. It has 1st record labels and original sleeve and is how Rubber Soul appeared when it first hit the stores.

This Loud Cut is especially rare due to the Ernest J. Day sleeve.

The Sleeve: 1st & original Flipback sleeve in Very Good Condition.

Has maintained a good firm shape with sharp edges and corners. All text legible and pictorials clear and glossy. Fully laminated with a little rippling effect on the opening side but no record ring wear on the front. All flipbacks fully intact, and there are no splits or rips to the sleeve. Spine fully intact and title text clear and bold. The iconic front photo is superb, this is the darker image (later prints had a light green hue, and a lighter red 'Rubber Soul'). This is the original photograph with the tear on John Lennon's right shoulder not yet air-brushed out!

A clean and neat sleeve.

No sticker or sticker residue, but has a name written in pen several times on reverse, otherwise the sleeve would grade as Excellent.

Inner Sleeve : This is the original and correct EMI Emitex 'Made In England' tracing paper lined inner sleeve. It is in Excellent condition and fully functional with no splits and is intact inside and out at all seams.

The Vinyl: In Very Good condition. The vinyl surfaces retain a very bright black glossy finish. Turned angled under direct light there a fair amount of feint non-feelable superficial stylus hairlines. There is a stylus mark on Side 1 which and can be seen in normal light, but which isn't deep into the grooves of the surface, but does cause a few clicks on the THE last two tracks of that side. The mirror-like surface shine is smooth and in normal light the vinyl surfaces still looks fresh, especially side 2 which would alone grades as Very Good Plus. The vinyl is clean, the record lays completely flat on the turntable, and has no warps.

Very heavy robust sixties vinyl weighing at 170 grams.

Labels are Very Good Plus. Text is clear and bright, the perimeter area around the spindle location point has very fine spindle wear and spindle line traces can been seen but not too heavy, and don't reach outside of the centre ring.

Has the KT tax code embossed on Side 1.

The text for the song titles is the Block capital Sans Serif font. The loud cut was only pressed for a few weeks, but during this time the font was changed from block capital to Times New Roman font which can be found on Loud Cuts and the early second presses. 

It was changed back to block capital again on the later pressings.

The Audio: The audio is Excellent on Side 2 having no major detractions such as pops, skips, jumps or sticks, and not really any interference to notice. On Side 2 the audio would be considered as Very Good as a few repeated ticks can be heard on Michelle and The Word (the last two tracks of Side 1). The surfaces  allow for a full original edgy bass reproduction and the vocals are still with a crisp and clear with a some soft ticks here and there, and during track change intro's mainly near the start of each side, and is probably just static build up. 

There is nothing that could be considered as background noise.

The robustness of these early pressings always ensures that the sound quality doesn't deteriorate noticeably as long as the record has not been mistreated.

The mono bass line is noticeably different to the second and later pressings.

This LP will be securely delivered in a professional cardboard LP mailer with cardboard stifferners.

A plain anti-static inner sleeve will house the record and the original will be placed separately.

A high grade PVC sleeve is included to further protect the LP as shown.

UK delivery is included and signed for.

Overseas delivery will be tracked and a tracking number will be given.
