Issue : UK 1st PRESS Label : PARLOPHONE Catalogue No : PMC 7027 Matrix : XEX 637-1 / 638-1
This is the UK 1st Press of 'Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band' by The Beatles. The 1st press has the original laminated mono Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve. The vinyl has the 1st press 'Sold In UK' and 'Gramophone Company' label text and the earliest XEX 637-1//638-1 matrix.
The vinyl is in Very Good condition. The vinyl has a superb gloss, but there are few very light marks and a mark at the end of Side 1. The label is in superb condition, the black is extremely solid and unworn, the silver text is sharp and there is only the slightest spindle wear.
The sound quality is Very Good. The vinyl lies completely flat on the turntable and the sound is exceptionally rich and vibrant. There is excellent clarity and audio separation. There are moments of the very slightest background crackle and there are a few clicks on the mark, but certianly no skips or jumps. These marks do little to spoil the enjoyment of this heavy UK original vinyl.
The Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold Mono laminated sleeve is in Very Good condition. The laminate has a stunning mirrored shine, the colours are vivid and the whole of the sleeve is completely solid and flat. There is some spine and corner wear. The inside shines like new, the laminate creaks when opened and it is in sensational bright and clean shape. The flipbacks are fully intact and sealed. The back cover has a couple of little laminate creases but is also exceptionally clean and bright.
