Matrix : YEX 637-1 / 638-1
This is the UK Stereo 1st Press of 'Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band' by The Beatles. The 1st press has the Peter Blake cut-out completely intact and the original laminated Stereo Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve. The vinyl has the 1st press 'Sold In UK' and 'Gramophone Company' label text and the earliest YEX 637-1//638-1 matrix. It is complete with the original red and white inner sleeve.
The vinyl is in Good condition. The vinyl has a jet black gloss, with a number of marks on both sides. The label is bold and bright, the black is extremely solid and only light spindle wear.
The sound quality is Very Good. The vinyl lies completely flat on the turntable and the sound is rich and vibrant. There is Very Good clarity and audio separation, just some moments of crackle, but it can still be enjoyed throughout.
It comes complete with the 'Peter Blake’ inner in Excellent condition.
The scarce original red and white inner sleeve has some wear and marks, but is complete.
The Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold Stereo laminated sleeve is in Very Good+ condition. The laminate has a mirrored shine, the colours are vivid and the whole of the sleeve is completely solid and flat. There is just a little corner wear. The inside shines like new, the laminate creaks when opened and it is bright and clean. There are just a couple of light laminate creases. The flipbacks are fully intact and sealed. The spine is firm with clear text.
