SLEEVE = EXCELLENT.
RECORD = VERY GOOD+.
This is an ORIGINAL 1969 UK FIRST PRESSING of The Stooges by The Stooges on Elektra records. The sleeve is near flawless with just a few tiny laminate cracks (double click the pictures. The spine is fully intact with all the writing easily readable (double click the pictures). The sleeve is in EXELLENT condition throughout with no unwanted writing anywhere on the item. The original inner sleeve id present but has a two in rip to the bottom and the cellophane has come away from the paper.
The beautiful red and silver Elektra labels are in great condition with no writing anywhere on either side. The spine does have some laminate cracks but all spinal writings are fully legible.
The record still retains a very high lustre sheen and it does have some very light hairlines to both sides. There is nothing on this record that causes any trouble during the playback and both sides play entirely without jumps sticking or skips. It plays exellently.
As you all know The Stooges UK First pressings of Funhouse and the Stooges are exceptionally rare.
A friend of mine had 2 record shops superbly placed in Manchester city centre in the mid 60s to the early 80s. He told me he remembered this bands first 3 LPs on their release. The first 2 came with some hype from the states that this band could well be be the next big thing. So they displayed a dozen of them in the shop window from top to bottom (remember when they used to do that ? ).
He said about both LPs that they never got a single enquiry ,not one. Then a few years later the very same thing happened with their third album Raw Power not a single enquiry. A 100% complete failure. He had never known another band achieve that !
