Artist: THELONIOUS MONK

Title: “Genius of Modern Music, Vol. 1”

Label: BLUE NOTE. Monaural pressing on heavy vinyl, with flat edge and deep groove. Label is blue/white, with blue text. Catalog number is BLP 1510.

Label address is “BLUE NOTE RECORDS * 767 LEXINGTON AVE * NYC” on both sides. “RVG” is etched, and “ear” symbol is stamped in the runout area on both sides.

Session Dates: 1947 - 1948.

Condition:

DISC: Vinyl is nice VG+ with full original gloss. Has been played a small number of times and handled with care. There are several faint marks that produce occasional very soft tics in a few places, but no loud clicks or pops. Plays very enjoyably with excellent fidelity. Labels are clean. A very nice playing copy.

JACKET: Laminated jacket with Lexington Avenue address is EXCELLENT. Front artwork is clean and bright, with a few slight traces of surface wear just beginning to appear. Nice seams and spine, with a bit of minor wear on the bottom seam but nothing serious. Slight wear at corner tips. Reverse is very clean and pristine except very small pen notation at the bottom right corner. Overall a very fine jacket to accompany the beautiful disc.
