TNS -Time's Up/Telling Your Fortune -TNS (1972 US)
Condition: VG-/G+ (plays with crackles, but doesn't skip, number on label). Please listen to the full sound clip as rating condition under VG can be a more subjective experience.
Incredibly rare recently discovered Proto Punk classic in the Stooges/MC5 mode. Really killer track recently comped on Michigan Meltdown volume 2 The condition is not the best, but it has become impossible to find better condition copies. I recently paid top bucks for another copy that was supposed to be VG+, but it was pretty much in the same condition as this one.
TNS was from Grand Rapids (Michigan), originally known as The TNS Blues Band, they shortened their name to TNS in time for the recording of this bona fide crunching classic. It has all the ingredients, a heavy pulsating beat, really meaty and overdriven guitars, killer lead and pure PUNK vocals…I mean this is real Iggy-type stuff. Both sides are ace, but Time’s Up wins in the Stoogian department; Telling Your Fortune being a Chicken Shack cover.. The line-up was Allen Martinez (vocals), Steve Barkwell (bass), Dave Dehoog (drums) and Randy Nichols on guitar.

Grading. I don’t use the term Mint. I don’t believe that records manufactured over 30 years ago, even if unplayed, can be called mint.
Grading: Record/Cover
EX: Means either “near mint” to some light marks with hardly any noticeable noise. Sleeve has no or only minor wear.
VG: Means means some light background noise and more pronounced marks which do not affect the listening experience in a major way. Sleeve may be creased, minor discolouring, the odd fraying, some ringwear, seam split and perhaps some writing.
G: Means noticeable clicks or pop, may have scratches, but doesn’t skip or jump. Sleeve may be ripped, tape repair, large writing, sticker removal damage etc...
Fair: Not a pleasant listening experience, the disc is damaged, just a stop gap before upgrading. Sleeve is badly damaged, not one to frame on the wall...
Poor: I don’t sell records in poor condition
Postage: I offer reduced postage if more than 1 record is purchased: There was a significant increase in Royal Mail charges back in April, I have had to adapt postage prices accordingly.
All records sent out in professional mailers with 2 stiffeners. Records removed from sleeve if housed in picture sleeve.
Insurance strongly recommended for high priced items and compulsory for packages of a value of over £80. Insurance added at cost. I retain proof of postage for all items.
