Description
Up for auction is a very rare copy of the classic Tom Waits album "Swordfishtrombones" originally released on Island Records (90095-1) in 1983.

Note: The very First Original pressings of this record had the purple "skyscraper" Island labels, not the more common "black" or "blue" Island labels. Insist on an original!
Condition: The cover is in very nice condition with only minor signs of wear and age. Front is nice and clean with only a hint of rubbing at top and bottom middle. Back is also clean with a hint of rubbing top middle. Seams are strong, no splits, no significant rub. Corners are sharp, not bumped, just a hint of rub on a couple. Very well-preserved copy. Grade: Excellent (EX), better than typical VG+ copies.
The vinyl is in very nice condition, still retains its original high gloss shine and luster. No obvious scratches or scuffs, just some faint superficial signs of having been taken out of paper inner sleeve a couple times. Labels are clean, no marks around spindle holes, indicating little previous play.
Play-Tested: This record has excellent fidelity, no significant surface noise or obvious distractions beyond the pressing itself. I doubt this record has been played more than once. Very well-preserved. Grade: Near Mint (NM).
