Description

This is an RCA Victor Vinyl 33 1/3 LP Orthophonic High Fedelity Recording of Jimmie Driftwood Singing his original recording of The Battle of New Orleans plus ten other great songs including Old Joe Clark.  This album was recorded in 1958 with the help of a young Chet Atkins and while Jimmie was a High School Principal in Snowball, Arkansas.  The condition of this record is as good as most classical records with very little if any noise from wear.  The interior dust jacket is plastic and really other than very slight yellowing from age the record cover is in like new condition with very little edge wear.  This record is a great collectible for anyone with an ear for what the early country music sounded like-echoes of Elizabethan England that drifted through the Smoky Mountains and found a home in the Ozark hills.  It doesn't get much better than this!
