Description

An original 1st STEREO press of OLDIES on the UK Parlophone label from 1966. Matrix 1G/1G - 1st cut. Stampers 2-AD/2-OG. Note that publishing details are present on the left side of the label - which infers 1st issue. The vinyl comes housed in an original MonoG&L cover. We also have an Emitex inner from the mid-sixties. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a few very light marks per side, and one light semi-feelable mark in CBML [which does sound slightly and briefly]. Fully tested - there's nothing here to be worried about. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with one deviation. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. Yesterday and Michelle - are the TEST tracks. Nearly all copies - even the good looking ones... play these with a touch of background. And this example is playing them very nice and clean - which is unusual. Yellow Submarine & Rigby play really well. Yesterday - a few slight crackles...but generally much better than you typically find. All I can make out is a few [about 7 or 8] low-level [low in the mix] ticks caused by the light mark in 'Can't Buy Me Love'. Nothing nasty - you have to concentrate to even pick them out. Highly recommended.
Cover (Vg+) Very well preserved with a nice clean and flat front - just a couple of thumbnail creases and a bit of ageing at the opening. The rear seems to have escaped the worst of the ageing process - just light evidence here and there. Edge wear is pretty limited. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Aged. No splits. Bag present.
