Description

An original 1st STEREO press of OLDIES on the UK Parlophone label from 1966. Matrix 1G/1G - 1st cut. Note that publishing details are present on the left side of the label - which infers 1st issue. The vinyl comes housed in an original Stereo G&L cover. We also have an Emitex advertising inner sleeve too. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a few very light marks per side, and one small semi-feelable mark right early in Submarine [which does sound briefly]. Fully tested - there's nothing here to be worried about. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of minor deviations. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. Yesterday and Michelle - are the TEST tracks. Nearly all copies - even the good looking ones... play these with a touch of background. And this example is playing them very nice and clean - which is unusual. Yellow Submarine & Rigby play really well. All I can make out is a few isolated crackles in one brief spot per side. A couple of clicks in the gap between 'Feel Fine' & 'Submarine'. As Submarine starts - there are then 3-4 minor ticks. It then clears out and plays fully clean. Highly recommended.
Cover (Vg+) Very well preserved with a nice clean and flat front - just a couple of thumbnail creases. The rear seems to have escaped the worst of the ageing process - just light evidence at extremities. Edge wear is pretty limited - except for a 1 inch wear through patch in the middle of the top edge. I have taped repaired internally - it is now just a minor cosmetic issue. The spine is in good order with all text fully legible - just a touch of ageing and a couple of stress creases. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex-) Slightest ageing. No splits.
