Description

A genuine 1st mono from 1964. Matrix 3N/3N - 1st cut. Note that absolute 1st press is identifiable by the wide-body chubby font employed on these labels. Labels mention 'Parlophone' and 'recording 1st pub' - indicative of 1st press. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original G&L cover with the Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Vg+) Has seen quite a bit of use - but thanks to how robust these early copies are...is in very fine fettle. There's a few very slight marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, VERYGOOD+ level of playback with just a couple of slight deviations. You've gotta take your hat off to the folk that pressed these records. By and large a very nice player which is more than capable of delivering AHDN in very fine form. There's minimal background. Perhaps a few isolated crackles in one spot per side. I picked out a couple of isolated ticks per side [e.g. 'Known Better]. Given it's from '64 you've really got to be impressed! A very fine rendition - and priced to go!
Cover (Vg+) These '64 covers can end up looking a bit tired by this point in time - but check this one out! - 'very impressive'. Pretty clean looking front with a few creases. The main issue is a 1 inch tear at the opening. Fully taped up - it is merely a cosmetic issue now. The rear has escaped the worst of the ageing process - very nice! Flipbacks are mostly intact and all secure. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg)Aged and has a couple of edge splits taped up.
