Description

An original 1st press of AHDN on the UK Parlophone label. Matrix 3N/3N. Please note the labels are perfectly consistent with earliest 1st press - they use the chubby font employed right at the outset and 'Parlophone' is mentioned in the perimeter text. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original flipback cover. Also included is the original Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex-) Ok so this LP, judging by the look of the spindle hole, has seen a fair bit of use. But here's the rub - AHDN 1st press copies are some of the heaviest pressed Beatles records going - they can withstand a fair bit of use. Please also note, however, there are only a few marks either side - it's still a fairly decent looking copy. It has absolutely not been abused. I'm pleased to report that despite the significant level of use the audio is still very well preserved. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAR EXCELLENT level of playback with one slight deviation. Yes, by and large this copy produces very nice clean audio ...and certainly well above what I was expecting. Interference is both minor and infrequent. All I could detect was a touch of light static creeping into the audio in the final track. And the only real deviation is a bit of brief crackle @ 30 seconds in 'And I Love Her' - and even this is nothing major and over pretty quickly. A very reasonably priced and decent playing original 1st press. Don't miss out!
Cover (Vg+) Might grade a tad higher but for a tiny one inch tear at the bottom opening edge. We've tape repaired it to make sure it doesn't deteriorate - and, in reality, isn't even that noticeable. Lovely clean front with a a few thumbnail creases toward the opening. The rear seems to have largely avoided the usual ageing process - just a faint touch in one or two spots, and one crease. All flipbacks are nice and secure and edge wear is very light. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex) Barely any ageing. No splits or marks.
