Description

An original very 1st MONO press of AHDN on UK Parlophone. Matrix 3N/3N. Lovely solid pressing as you would expect. A really well preserved original - not abused like so many other copies. This is the wide-bodied font you find on the VERY 1st copies. recording 1st pub exhibiting - and Parlophone perimeter text. The vinyl comes housed in an original mono G&L cover. There's also the original Emitex inner too. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In super condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a few lightest marks per side - nothing heavy or troublesome though. For the vintage it looks really good. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with one deviation. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Given the vintage - very impressive. I'm just getting clean mono feed - and you can hear all the detail well down into the mix. Even the quieter tracks play very well. All I could detect was a few crackles in one brief spot per side - that's all really. To be frank - this is about as good as you can usually find AHDN. Overall a great rendition and much better than what typically surfaces.
Cover (Ex-) Difficult to find in really great condition - but this example is a cut above the average copy. Nice clean front without much sign of wear. The rear has avoided much of the usual fading - just a bit over at the opening. Flipbacks are all well preserved and there's little edge wear. Slight creasing to one corner. The spine is 98% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex-) Minimal ageing , and no splits.
