Description

An original Mono 1st press from 1964 on UK Parlophone. Matrix 3N/3N = 1st cut. Note how 1st copies of AHDN will mention 'Parlophone' in the perimeter text and 'recording 1st published'. And this is the very earliest wide-body font variation. Nothing else "label-wise" exists before this copy. The vinyl comes housed in an original G&L Mono cover. We'll ship in a mid-sixties poly-lined inner sleeve [not original to the release] for maximum protection. 
Vinyl (Ex-) In very nice condition despite a moderate level of use. The original owner has been a wee bit careless in places. So, expect a few light marks per side and a couple of semi-feelable marks toward the end of side 1. If you're someone who's going to turn your nose up at a couple of marks like that - probably best moving on to the next copy. However, if you're someone who can compromise a little and understands that early 60's vinyl [particularly] was pressed very heavy.. read on. The sheer depth of the grooves largely protects this copy from those marks. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a varying level of playback between NEAREXCELLENT and EXCELLENT with one deviation. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. By and large this is a nice relatively clean player - much of that original audio is still intact. It's not perfectly clean in all areas though. Expect a bit of background in 'And I Love Her' - nothing major.. it just won't play as clean as in the other tracks. A few crackles noticeable in a couple of moments per side. But nothing off putting at all. Even the marks at the end of side 1 don't seen to impinge on the audio. I have given particular attention to these last two tracks [Side 1] and I can only really make out a couple of ticks in the adjoining groove. I'm not really picking up anything much at all during the tracks. Thank the lord for 60's vinyl!
Cover (Ex-) In very rude health for its vintage. The front is shiny and flat with little sign of ageing. There's just a couple of thumbnail creases over at the opening. The rear loooks great and has largely avoided the ageing process. There's just a touch of grubbiness over at the opening. All flipbacks are intact and secure. Edge wear is pretty light and the spine looks great with all text perfectly legible. There's just one nick/knock at the foot of the spine [no big deal]. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex) Minimal ageing and no splits.
