Description

An original 1st issue of AHDN on the UK Parlophone label from 1964. Matrix 3N/3N. Please note the label design employs the chubby font and these pressings are the de facto very 1st of 1st pressings. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse cover. Also included is the original Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In very nice condition despite having seen a moderate level of use. Under close inspection there are a few light marks either side, and the odd superficial trial - but absolutely nothing heavy that's going to sound or feature in the audio. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are really nice and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. This really is a testament to the pressing quality of EMI during this period - there are a few light marks...but the audio is delivered with great precision and integrity. Even the quieter paired down tracks play nice and clean. Interference is very minor and infrequent. All I could detect were a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments. Quite frankly a fantastic rendition from the is original '64 copy with very little to find fault with.
Cover (Vg) In great shape and has been looked after down the years. Nice clean front, but exhibits a few stress creases along the edges. The rear has tanned a little - but looks better than many examples. There's edge wear, but it's only really noticeable at the bottom of the opening where there's an internal tape repair of a one inch split. The spine looks to be pretty much intact apart from a tiny stress crease or two. The text on the spine seems to be fully legible. Overall the cover retains very good rigidity.
Inner (Ex) In great condition. No splits or markings.
