Please note one of my viewers kindly pointed out that I was showing a photo of the WRONG back cover from a later version of the album. I obviously placed the original album in the wrong outer sleeve (I have four copies of Abbey Road). I have now tried to replace all of my photos but did not find it easy! Suffice to say the photo of the back of the sleeve is now the correct one.


From my extensive Beatles collection I am offering my 1969 original copy, of which there were nine versions on vinyl from 1969. Having checked the various versions released I can provide the following information on my copy of the album. This copy has ‘Her Majesty’ listed on the label on Side 2. The labels have “(An E.M.I. Recording”) text on two lines and a small 331/3 text on the left side of the labels and the publishing year with a small P symbol. A fully laminated cover without flaps on the back cover. The front cover has the drain showing and the rear cover has the Apple logo aligned with the text and ‘Her Majesty’ not listed.

Having play graded the album I am happy to classify the vinyl as EX. There is one minor click on ‘Sun King’ but no other pops, clicks or scratches on either side. For an album that is now fifty six years old the exemplary production values by Sir George Martin shine through on this classic recording by the Fab Four.


The outer cover has no marks or creases and the spine is fully legible (please see photos). The inner sleeve has been replaced by a modern, protective sleeve to look after the vinyl. Essentially, this is an excellent, well preserved copy of The Beatles eleventh album released on 26 September, 1969.
