Description
Abbey Road 1st pressing from 1969 on the UK Apple label. Matrix -2/-1. The record label is consistent with a first pressing as the track 'The End' does not credit 'Her Majesty'. The record comes housed in its original cover manufactured by 'Garrod & Lofthouse International Ltd'. and please note - this is the misaligned Apple logo version which are only found on the very first issues. Also included is the original inner patent 1,125,555.
Vinyl (Ex+) Is remarkably well preserved and has clearly been looked after down the years. Under close inspection I can't see anything more than a couple of ultra-feint marks. Nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. It's worth noting that on 'Abbey Road' a lot of the tracks are quite low-key and interference, often, easily stands out. Not here, this copy plays back to a very high standard and any interference is audibly very very minimal and limited in nature. Also, its worth noting the quality of the audio - beautiful full range and rich. They don't make'm like they used to!
Cover (Ex) Again has survived the years particularly well. Beautifully shiny front and rear. All the colours are still lovely and bold - a testament to the quality of manufacture. Edge wear is almost non-existent and the spine is totally intact. The cover also has maintained a really good level of rigidity. Given that this is the more collectable earlier version it really is one seriously nice cover!
Inner (Vg+) Some light ageing and a 1inch seam split, but otherwise absolutely fine.
